Frequently asked Questions

When do I need a Survey?

Typically land surveys are required by municipalities or lending institutions when you want to buy, sell, subdivide or build on a property. A survey will show the physical evidence and location of your property lines in relation to the existing and/or proposed structures and adjacent owners.

How long is a survey good for?

A survey is a snapshot in time. The map and/or monuments represent the boundary location and improvements of a parcel of property as of the date on the map. After the surveyor has left, any number of issues could arise, encroachments could be built, easements could have been created, even portions of the property could have been sold.

How much does a survey cost?

Every parcel of land is unique. Factors such as type of survey, lot size/shape, terrain, vegetation and availability of existing evidence can all effect the price. Due to the wide range of variables, the cost of a survey can be anywhere from a few hundred dollars to several thousand.
